Came home and got a call from Liz who asked if I wanted to hang out with Bart and work on the bus. I has just gotten my foot in the door so I shoved a peanut butter sandwich in my face and went out the door. First we had to find out how to get the electricity back on in the garage, Bart blew a REALLY old style fuse when he tried to turn on his abrasive cutter. We also had to get the garage door to catch on this little piece that holds it to the chain.... anyways after all that we got going again.
My two repair panels came in the mail today, the battery tray definitely looks different and after a few minutes of grinding on it I was able to get it to fit very well. The other piece I got looks great but is missing a lip on the bottom of it, to be honest it isn't essential but I would like to keep it. I think I'll leave the lip from the old piece in place and weld on the new piece from there up. The panel does look nice though and fits well.
Battery tray in place, not welded yet though. |
I'm coming home early from work tomorrow so I can move the bus around and get some stuff welded with Bart before supper. Liz is feeding us because James and Dwight are gone, so she has an empty nest or something.... I dunno... STEAK.
Also, did you guys see this: Awesome Internet Effort to try and purchase the land where Tesla's Wardenclyffe tower used to be located and turn it into a sweet museum!
Awesome.
